To create a more sustainable and accessible mobility for the future, understanding passenger needs and priorities has to be put on the agenda. Therefore, EPF has strived to bring passengers’ input to different events and conferences during the past months.
On the 12th of November, Project Officer Sandra Lima attended the Seminar “Shaping the Future of Mobility” where she presented the Passenger Expectations for the Future of Mobility in Europe after the EU Green Deal. Shaping the Future of Mobility was an international event included in the program of the #EUYearofRail that took place the 10-12th November 2021 in Lisbon.
The three-day discussions focused on future-looking perspectives for mobility and touched upon technological advancements, new regulatory frameworks, financing, innovation and the impact of sustainable goals in public transport.
In this Seminar we brought up the need to involve passengers to achieve a modal shift, the role of rail in achieving the sustainability goals, our views on passenger needs and inclusion of vulnerable groups and a few examples of opportunities and obstacles in public transport to achieve passenger satisfaction.
