As 2022 comes to an end, so does the 3-year INDIMO project dedicated to breaking the barriers that people face in accessing digitally interconnected mobility systems.
In those 3 years, INDIMO partners collaborated with stakeholders in 5 pilot locations to create a set of adaptable tools and guidelines for developing inclusive mobility services. The INDIMO Inclusive Digital Mobility Toolbox is an interactive set of online tools to support a user-centric design approach:
- Design digital mobility solutions that are better tailored to citizens’ needs, through the UDM – Universal Design manual;
- Design universally understandable interfaces between end-users and the digital mobility system, via the UIL – Universal interface language manual;
- Ensure data protection and cybersecurity in digital mobility solutions, via the CSG – Cybersecurity and privacy assessment guidelines;
- Evaluate the compliance of digital mobility solutions and services with the universal design principles, via the SET – Service evaluation tool;
- Identify, select, and filter a list of recommendations in the INDIMO Recommendations.
We hope this toolbox will help developers, policy makers, and service operators design more accessible and inclusive services. And while the INDIMO project may end this year, there is still much work to be done in the way of inclusivity and accessibility. Let’s strive together towards more user-centric (digital) mobility solutions!
