The European Passengers’ Federation is in favour of the proposal to give all young Europeans the opportunity of a free Interrail card when they reach the age of 18. Many children have experienced in their youth only cars, local busses or trams. They have never learned the great possibilities of trains to travel across borders inside Europe.

A free Interrail pass gives them the possibility to discover train travel and the joy and experience of visiting other European countries. When they have once discovered the advantages of the Interrail pass, they are likely to buy those passes again in the future. Travelling by train in Europe is more friendly for the environment than travelling by plane or touring by car.
